My practice as an editor and writing coach draws on 30 years' experience helping professionals write books and articles. My specialties include working with therapists who want to write, and helping new writers overcome writing blocks.
During that time I've worked with nonfiction and fiction writers, coaching them to discover and write what matters most to them and editing their work. I was managing editor and a features editor of the Family Therapy Networker (now the Psychotherapy Networker), the leading magazine for mental health professionals. During my tenure as managing editor, the Networker twice won the prestigious National Magazine Award, for Best Feature Writing and for General Excellence.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a minor in English, I studied at the Graduate School of Publications at George Washington University. In 2001, I began editing books as a freelancer and in 2004 established Write Your Best.
I live in Albuquerque, NM, near the university, with the Sandia mountains to the east and the desert to the west. Endless views, spectacular sunsets, and a climate that can’t be beat are just a few reasons I wouldn’t live anywhere else.
