SORRY - THIS RETREAT IS SOLD OUT October 7-10, 2011: “Overcoming Writing Hurdles” 3-day writer’s retreat in Albuquerque, NM during the International Balloon Fiesta From Friday afternoon through Monday afternoon (Columbus Day) you can devote yourself to your writing in a supportive group of fellow-writers at all levels of experience. You’ll start each day with the inspirational sight of watching hundreds of hot-air balloons floating right overhead. Then you’ll enjoy a mix of group writing exercises, solitary time for your own writing, one-on-one consultation with Cindy Barrilleaux, a veteran writing coach and editor. She will also give talks about techniques for solving typical writing problems that plague all writers, from not having enough time, to getting stuck, to polishing final drafts. All of this occurs during the International Balloon Fiesta. The single bedroom accommodations at the Madonna Retreat Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico overlook the Rio Grande. One evening we’ll go to the balloon Fiesta field for one of the most popular event of the Fiesta, the Glowdeo and fireworks, when the huge, tethered balloons in all shapes and colors fire up their engines simultaneously, while spectators walk among them. That’s followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Come relax, write with no distractions, and enjoy the best New Mexico has to offer!
